How Our Library Works

Book Acquisition

Teachers and management recommend academic and general reading materials. The librarian reviews publisher catalogues and places orders after administrative approval.

Accessioning & Cataloguing

Every book receives a unique accession number with title, author, subject, ISBN, barcode and spine-label details recorded in physical and digital systems.

Classification

Resources are classified using the Dewey Decimal Classification and arranged by subject and author for easy identification and retrieval.

Membership

Students and staff are registered in NewGenLib and issued library IDs, enabling systematic borrowing and tracking of library resources.

Circulation

Selected books and member IDs are scanned to generate due dates. Returns update availability and overdue fines are calculated through the system.

Stock Verification

Periodic checks identify missing, damaged or repairable resources, supported by regular monitoring and an annual stock audit.
